1. Fervent Church (Loving) Revelation 2:1-5 (NKJV)

1“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, …“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

First, this church…

  • RAN AWAY 4…you have left your first love.
  • REMEMBER 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen
  • REPENT 5 …repent
  • REDO 5 do the first works

2. Fruitful Church (Growing) Mark 4:1-20 (NKJV)

Different Grounds (v.4-8)

  • 4The seed that fell by the wayside; the birds [a]of the air came and devoured it.
  • The seed that fell on stony ground, did not have much earth; so when the sun comes up it was scorched, because it had no root and it withered away.
  • The seed that fell among thorns; choked it.
  • But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop, it increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

Explanation (v.14-20)

14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [e]accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

What is keeping you from Growing in Christ?

  • The Enemy Steals… 15 …Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
  • Endurance is short 16…when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time
  • Earth’s Cares 18 …ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

How do we know that we are growing?

  • Fruit is growing 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [e]accept it, and bear fruit:
  • Our Number 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

3. Faithful Church (Managing) Matthew 25:14-30 (NKJV)

Stewardship: God owns everything. Therefore, I must manage well that God entrusts to me.

  • Stewardship was in place in the beginning Genesis 2:15 (NKJV)
  • Joseph shows how Stewardship Looks Like Genesis 39:2-6 (NKJV)
  • Parable of the Talents: plainly shows that Stewards (Managers) will give an account Matthew 25:14-30 (NKJV) 19 “After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money.
